Remember this when choosing the colors for your wedding. The colors you
choose reflect your personality and style.
Whether you choose your favoite colors or the color scheme to match
the season your having your event in, it still has a way to refect
who you are and what you like.

Black: Complements almost any color, especially lighter hues.
Dignified and mysterious, black denotes sexiness and sophistication
with a modern twist. Black is classic! As an opulent choice, black is timelessly
elegant.

White: Purity and innocence, white has strong connotations of youth and
perfection.White is a glorious hue (or lack thereof) that denotes
a clean palette or fresh start for those who seek serenity and peace.

Red: A passionate, romantic choice, red is impulsive and outgoing.
Whether it denotes joy, celebration, happiness or prosperity,
red elicits a dramatic response.Red lovers tend to be restless and
optimistic and go along with people with uncomplicated natures.

Pink: A softer, girlish choice, pink is the sweeter side of red.
A delicate hue, pink represents a sensitive heart that is
affectionate and nurturing.

Orange: Spontaneous and daring, brides who choose orange are bold.
Because orange is a happy and trendy hue, orange enthusiasts tend
to be popular, have excessive energy and are part of a large social
circle. From a bright and happy backdrop to an exotic, spicy richness,
brides who prefer orange tend to be fearless and curious, with a zest.

Yellow: The color of a sunny day, yellow denotes happiness and hope.
Exuding warmth and vitality and usually possessing a great sense of
humor, people who love yellow have cheerful spirits and optimistic
values.

Green: Green shades symbolize life, freshness, nature and fertility.
A common choice for eco-friendly brides, green shows that you value
your health and the environment.

Blue: Soothing, compassionate and cool, blue is the color of
tranquility and royalty. Blue belles are deliberate, introspective,
conservative and patient, tending to be sensitive and wise. Serene
and cool, blue denotes cautious partners who are faithful but require
a calm and harmonious existence.

Purple: Often associated with both royalty and luxury, purple is a
passionate color. Choosing purple symbolizes dignity, tolerance and
value. Violet lovers tend to be unconventional and observant, with a
multifaceted personality. Tolerant and witty, purple devotees are
likely to achieve authoritative positions.

Brown: A natural, neutral color of the earth, brown represents
wholesomeness and dependability. Symbolizing comfort and contentment,
brown represents honesty. Just right for your wedding day, brown is
substantial, steady and responsible.

The aforementioned color synopses are not strict rules or character
definitions, but rather are designed as an indicator of what is
important to you. Whether you select a spicy orange to match the
falling autumn leaves or a peony pink simply because it is your
favorite color, choose what looks and feels good to you.

It’s the prelude to the kiss! Prelude music is played as guests are taking their seats right before the wedding ceremony is set to start. Think of prelude songs as the opening act to your romantic play.

Processional
Cue the music — the processional is in progress! Processional music plays as your bridal party and groomsmen take their walks down the aisle. The anticipation is at its height, as everyone awaits the first glimpse of the lovely bride.

The Bride Entrance
Here comes the bride — grooving to The Beatles! Bridal entrance songs range in the traditional (think Ave Maria) to braver tunes like Bon Jovi’s Make a Memory. The most important thing about a bride’s entrance is that it fit with her personality and the theme of her wedding day.

Unity Candles
Lighting the unity candle is a truly bright moment and signifies the coming together of two people. Unity candle songs set the tone of the actions, songs like Amazing Grace or Here and Now (Luther Vandross) enhance this beautiful gesture.

Interlude
An interlude is any special wedding moment that requires no words — just the perfect music to set the scene. Interlude music can be more reflective (Bach’s Arioso) or celebratory (I’m a Believer, by Smash Mouth).

Recessional
Let’s get this wedding party started! Wedding recessional music is all about joy, as the bride and groom are now man and wife and are taking a happy stroll back down the aisle together. Favorite wedding recessional tunes include the cheeky (Queen’s Another One Bites the Dust) or the sentimental (Etta James’ At Last).

These are some ideas for you to look at as of song for these important events during your personal wedding ceremony.
We always say to the bride when they are planing this part of the wedding use music that you both remind you of each other. We as a DJ love when your event is touching and from the heart. Feel free to ask us about any info or planning ideas http://www.pghvibesunlimited.com

When first arriving at a wedding reception some guests tend to be complacent and reserved with new faces.
A challenge you’ll want to quickly address is getting them comfortable with each other and their surroundings.
A great way break to break the ice is to provide a fun and interactive game during cocktail hour and/or dinner.
Simple games like the Mirror Kiss, Scavenger Hunts, or even Put-for-a-kiss works great. For some great ideas check out TheKnot.com or even Google reception games. There are tons of great resources out there.

2)Get Them Moving
During dinner guests often slow down due to the decrease in physical activity and from the consumption of food and liquor. This slow down in physical activity creates a shutdown in their adrenaline. As you probably guessed it, this is not something you want right before you open your dance floor. During desert you’ll want to be sure to increase your guests movement to increase their endorphins and to promote a sense of ease.

One of the greatest things about it being your wedding day is you’re the boss! You can boss your bridal party around a little bit. So tell the bridal party that part of their job is to dance, and to ask other people to dance. After 10 years of DJing, I’ve noticed that guests are more apt to dance when there are already people dancing. So make it part of your plan to be on the dance floor at least 40% of the evening with your dance floor. This is tried and proven. It will work!

3) Get Guests Dancing
Create An Atmosphere: After dinner you may want to try a karaoke sing-a-long to get the spirit going. Audience participation, where your guests function as a unit, rather than as individuals, builds confidence and relieves their some of their inhibitions. The wedding event will flow smoothly when everybody’s at ease and you don’t have to pump them full of liquor to get there

A simple technique to raise the energy level is a song that everybody knows with a fun activity tossed in. “That’s Amore” or “Sweet Caroline” are fun songs that everyone knows and can help reflects the romance of the evening. Set to music, your emcee might suggest that your guests raise their dinner napkins over their heads and sway to the beat of the tune as they sing along. Once the crowd gets their endorphins pumped, you’re ready to introduce the first dance for the bride and groom.

4) Play the Music They Like
Variety in music is key when it comes to a successful wedding reception. What appeals to your high school friends will not be exactly the same as your work colleagues. Try to have your DJ mix things up and play a little of each. If yourDJ does things right your guests who come up for The Bee Gees will stick around for Justin Timberlake. A great way to feel your crowd out before the reception is to have them request a song for dancing on their reply cards. This not only gets your guests involved but it also ensures the wedding music appeals to their specific tastes.

5) Don’t Forget The Older Guests

Be sure to take care of your older guests. Sure you want your friends to have a good time, but don’t forget about the older folks. They should be equally involved in the fun throughout the evening. Older guests generally are the first to leave so be sure to cater the music towards them during the first hour of open dancing. You’d be surprised at how many great songs came the 40s, 50s and 60s. Be sure to play some songs like by. Some great suggestions would be The Supremes, Jerry Lee Lewis, and of course Elvis Presley!
